Get Focused Inc. has been fortunate to be a part of the lives of so many wonderful people. Here are some of their stories:

Porfirio "Goose" Lizardo

"I've known Goldin for a very long time. We played competitive basketball on the same AAU team. I played for the younger team and he played for the older guys. I remember him being a really good basketball player back then but instead of pursuing a career in basketball he decided to pursue a career as a fitness professional. It didn't make any sense, but now I see why he made that choice. I continued playing basketball. I've been the starting guard for all 4 of my high school years. Goldin has always been very supportive throughout my high school basketball career. When he became a trainer a few years ago he offered to help me improve my game by teaching me strength training. It was my freshman year so I was too busy practicing, but when he told me he started a fitness program at our local recreation center this year (my senior year) with Yusuf I quickly made some free time. I met Yusuf through Goldin and have never seen a more ripped guy in my life. He looks like a real life superhero. I still remember the first day I entered their class. Goldin looked at me shocked. I think he could not believe I was finally showing up to learn his exercises. Now, because of Goldin and Yusuf, I feel stronger and faster then the rest of my teammates and feel confident that I can make an impact on the next level of basketball. I think I speak on behalf of all the students when I say we all love being a part of the Get Focused family. Thank you guys!!!! - Your boy Goose.

"We feel so happy to be a part of the team. Get Focused has changed our lives in many ways. Kimberly and I are best friends and joined the program together. When we started we had no clue that Goldin and Yusuf were going to be so cool. They helped us become more fit and have made us feel completely comfortable when we show up for the Get Focused workouts. At first we didn't realize the positive impact their workouts were having on us, but once we began seeing the results in our bodies we became more serious students. "When I first met Goldin it was by mistake. I went to the recreation center where he runs the Get Focused program in, not to join his class, because I had no clue about it, but to ask the center manager for a job. When I walked into the gym I asked the manager if they were hiring and he said no! But Goldin quickly jumped into the conversation and told me about the program he runs in there. He told me that it was his first day and that he is a trainer who is there to teach people how to exercise for free. I took a look around and saw that there was no one else in the gym but him and I. So when he asked me if I wanted to join his program I said no. I just did not want to be the only person there. So I asked him how many people are in his program already and he said "If you join, then only you." And that is when my life changed for the better. Goldin and I were the first two people in the Get Focused program. And today there's over 150 kids and teens who have joined our Get Focused family. Get Focused has done so much for me and I am so grateful to Goldin and Get Focused for changing my life. I walked into that center in hope for a job and today I am one of the trainers for the Get Focused program. I am now a healthy role model and look forward to a bright future with Get Focused. "Despite freezing winter weather, Get Focused showed up promptly at my Health Fair in December. They set up their equipment and before long had a crowd of students gathered around waiting to participate. Get Focused enthusiasm got the students excited; even a very overweight one was working hard thanks to their positive encouragement. The whole Health Fair was a hit and the one part my students remembered most was Get Focused. Students are still walking up to me 3 months later asking about them.
